Instagram Gifts can be purchased by fans to send to their favorite creators to show their support through monetary tips and gifts.

Followers can purchase Gifts in the form of stars, which are then given to the creator through a revenue share from their Reels. ⭐️
The payout from the received IG Gifts will be on a monthly basis equal to $.01 USD for every star given from followers.
How to turn on Instagram Gifts for Reels?
Instagram Gifts is a new feature that allows U.S.-based creator to monetize their Reels content. Here’s how to turn on IG Gifts for Reels:
- Tap Professional Dashboard.
- Under Your Tools, tap Gifts.
- Tap Allow gifts on reels to turn on this feature and allow viewers to send gifts on previously created reels or future reels. You can also tap to turn it off at any time, but this will turn off the ability for people to send gifts to any of your reels on your profile.
Now your followers can send their appreciation for your reels with Instagram Gifts.
How do Creators get paid for Instagram Gifts?
Creators can get paid for Instagram Gifts by setting up a payout account on the app.
You can view and manage your Instagram Gift payouts in your Professional Dashboard > Your Tools > Gifts > Payout Account.
It’s worth mentioning that IG will only send payment when the total amount reaches $100 USD.
Of course, with the issue of bots, if suspicious or fraudulent activity is detected, payouts could be delayed.

So, stars that are purchased in-app, in addition to the revenue share, a portion of the stars pack price also goes to the mobile platform (Apple for iOS and Google for Android).

Stars are currently selling for $0.99 for a pack of 45 and go up! But Instagram Gifts can be purchased directly within the IG app for $2.99 for 140 Stars or $5.99 for 300.

Instagram badges let you earn money when you go Live, whereas Instagram Gifts are Reels-only for the time being.

Instagram from revenue share on Badges is currently at 0%. Google and Apple collect 30% in fees for in-app purchases.
